Prayer Focus: Summer Youth Programs


The Operation World prayer guide puts Haiti's youth as a particularly needy, strategic group for prayer: "Poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and constant turmoil that disrupts the education system all make for a difficult context for Haitian youth. Guns and gangs are the paths many take to cope. Too few churches have active programs designed for young people."

With this huge need for a solid Christian influence, we focus from July to September on reaching young people for Christ, encouraging and supporting them in their life and faith through live Summer Programs Randevou Ak Vakansye Yo (Vacation Get-Together, program in Creole) and Salut Vacances (Hello Holidays!, in French).

The theme for summer 2011 is Nothing Compares to Jesus, with music, meditations, quizzes, teaching and other fun stuff all pointing to our only Hope in Christ.

Please pray for our staff and young volunteer presenters, that God will use them in mighty ways to reach a generation for Himself.

Praises & Prayer Requests - August 2011

  • Keep praying for process for new Prime Minister for Haiti, after two nominations rejected by Parliament. Pray for godly wisdom and discernment for President Martelly and leaders. May God raise up the right person for the job.
  • Presenters: Pray for 4VEH sports presenters Hugues Michel and Pastor William Vixamar as they serve the community through reporting local, national and international sports news.
  • We thank God for the impact of the Billy Graham My Hope evangelism events last weekend broadcast on TV, radio including 4VEH and projectors around Haiti. Already churches report 15,000 people made decisions for Christ. Pray for many more to hear and accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus and for each to grow in their new faith.
